Publication protection
How Deviantism handles authorship rights, plagiarism complaints, and disputes over literary texts.
These documents describe the internal rules of Deviantism and are written with the general legal context of the Republic of Moldova in mind. They do not replace individual legal advice, but they explain the basic rights, obligations, and moderation order on the platform.
1. The author keeps the rights
Publishing a text on Deviantism does not transfer copyright to the platform. The author keeps their exclusive rights unless the law or a separate agreement states otherwise.
2. What the platform does
- Stores and displays the publication inside the service.
- May index the publication for internal search and feeds.
- May temporarily limit access to a disputed work while a complaint is reviewed.
- May remove a publication if a confirmed rights violation is established.
3. Plagiarism complaints
If a user believes their work was copied, published without permission, or falsely attributed, they should file a complaint with a direct link to the disputed publication and evidence of authorship.
4. Temporary measures
While a dispute is reviewed, Deviantism may hide the publication from search, restrict access, or freeze some interactions around it in order to protect both evidence and the author.
